The beginning of Speckled Band

A picture I drew for my school's illustration class.
I had an interesting feedback session with the illustration teacher about this picture.

The main points were:
- research more about clothing and stuff if you're doing about a certain period (apprently she didn't dig H&W's hairdos for being too funky...I know, I know!! )
- stop drawing spaghetti limbs (she said the woman's arms were horrible! plus that she looked too old.)
- I should be more like Sidney Paget.

Note: She clearly had no idea at all about anything Holmes related before (nor about my ridicilous obsession about it) , but she said the text I gave her was very interesting (The beginning of the Speckled Band) and that she had found out a bit more about it from wikipedia.

Teacher: "I found this picture for you as an example, I'm not saying it's better than yours..." (pic)
Elina: *LOL ! (why, yes it is...)

Teacher: "I wonder who this SP is...?"
Elina: "Hmm...hmm" *yes, I wonder that too...*

But generally she almost didn't hate it, I think
And this clearly was not my best...there is a lot I would do differently now. But you have to understand me! I was feeling horrible and had a slight fever when I drew this!  And now that I look at it, I can see that I was holding back a bit, since I wasn't sure what was going to be liked and what not.

I'll do better next time.
